And Memphis takes game 1, they really needed it with Manu being out and now have huge momentum. Controlled most of the game and didn't fold in the end, great great game by them.
Well it kicked off today with...
Atlanta taking down Orlando pretty easily IN Orlando 103-93. Game 2 is a must win for Orlando. This either goes 7 or Atlanta takes it easily.
Atlanta 1 Orlando 0
Miami takes down Philly in a somewhat close one 97-89.
Miami 1 Philly 0
Chicago, with the best regular season record in the league has to rally back to take down Indiana. An interesting series we're in for? Hmm. Or maybe Indiana put everything they had into this game and the rest get pretty easy for Rose and company. Happy to see Hansbrough dropping 22 in this one.
Chicago 1 Indiana 0
Dallas struggles with Portland in this game one, for awhile I thought they were going to steal this one. 89-81. Back and forth, then Dirk went off. REALLY excited to see game 2!
Tomorrow we're in for some good ones for sure!
Memphis at SA at 1 on TNT - don't be surprised if this is a close game, SA is definitely better, but Mem. has been playing great ball since really the all-star break, it's going to be a tough out. And coming from Memphis, that city is going show up when they come to the FedEx Forum. But this is nothing new, a few years ago the Grizzlies made it to the playoffs three games in a row and were 0-12 - never won a playoff game, so they'll come to play and might just possibly steal one on the road from SA. Just my opinion, they could also fold like they did the other three times too, just saying I wouldn't be surprised if this game 1 is REALLY close .
NO at LAL at 330 on ABC - good match up, I feel they lucked up and didn't draw Portland locking that 2 seed, but NO could give them all they can handle in this game. Curious to see how Bynum will play with that last small injury, the guy is a walking injury, wouldn't be surprised if he goes out in this series.
NYK at Boston at 7 on TNT - Really think this is going to be a good series, we'll see how hungry Amare and Melo coming out in this game. Either it's Boston in 6 or it becomes a tossup in 7 IMO.
Denver at OKC at 930 on TNT - I'd give it to OKC, both have tons of talent on their teams, but this series could go one way or the other with these 4/5 seeds. Going 7 IMO.
And Memphis takes game 1, they really needed it with Manu being out and now have huge momentum. Controlled most of the game and didn't fold in the end, great great game by them.
The Spurs got dominated inside, letting Memphis shoot 55% for the game and allowed Gasol/Randolph combine for like 50 and 20.
TD got in foul trouble real quick in the 3rd on two really bad tickytacky fouls and the Spurs offense was stagnant without him. But even without Manu and not playing well, they had a 4 point lead with a minute left but give Memphis credit, they never quit and never folded and won the game. Battier (lucky mfer) hit a three to take a one point lead then Hill missed a runner, Tony Allen hit two FTs after missing a bunch and then RJ misses a three to tie at teh end.
Its a ****ing heartbreaker, and SAS needs Manu something fierce. The offense is pitiful without him.
But I cant feel too depressed, I could be a fan of the two-time defending champs who also lost a home opener in Game 1, but I think Memphis>New Orleans.

I would really like to pull for the Bulls. But, as much as I have taken a liking to Derek Rose, I can't stand Boozer and Noah equally!
cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war.....
That was a huge win for Memphis. They steal game 1 on the road against the 1 seed, then on top of that it's their first playoff win ever...so more momentum than usual. They're going to have that inside game this whole series too, with Manu or not. Which brings the issue of Manu HAS to play in game 2, it's a MUST win IMO. Also remember Memphis is without Rudy Gay, I know that they have adpated to play and win without him, but this series would be pretty even with him. Looking at their roster, they are as solid as anyone : Randolph, Gasol, Conley, Mayo, Battier(huge pick up for them), Leon Powe and Tony Allen are a couple great pick ups for those solid role playing/energy guys and some others...not a bad team at all. I think with Gay they could have been on their way to some major upsets, well maybe, they probably would have had a better seed too.
But what about those Lakers? lmao Good stuff.
The Knicks/Boston game was a good one, I think if Billups didn't go out, they would have taken that one. Very tight game, again I think this goes 7 - pending the health of Billups, if he's out when game 3 comes around...Boston wraps it up earlier. On another note, Boston stole this one, don't know how in the world KG wasn't called for an offensive foul on that Allen shot.
OKC takes game 1 in a great, close game. This has the potential to be the best series IMO out of this first round. A lot of talent on both teams and pretty evenly matched, young talent too, both are going to be a force for years to come. Love OKC, but have nothing aganst Denver esp. watching Ty Lawson continue to grow in the NBA - he's getting really good.
This Knicks/Celtics game is shaping up to be a great game/finish, very chippy too, just under 6 left in the game!
Spurs are out of it, down 3-1 now, do not see them winning game 6 in Memphis and may not even win Game 5 with the way the Grizzlies have played. Could see in a few days one of the biggest upsets in NBA history.
Have two great series going on too with Portland/Dallas and LA/NO tied up at 2-2. LA should have already finished this off or at least have the 3-1 lead. Paul is taking it to them, this will likely go 7 now IMO, but this game 5 is HUGE. NO has proven they can win in LA and Kobe may not be 100 with that ankle, going to be a good one though. In the other series, Dallas up double-digits atm on Portland with about 7 left in the game...but I'm expecting a close finish, may be wrong.
Also expecting OKC to get the sweep tonight, but Denver may pull one out and extend this.
In the East its a little less exciting. Chicago and Miami should have swept, but will probably finish off Indiana and Philly in game 5.
Celtics do sweep, but really that's the most misleading sweep I have seen. NYK could not only still be in this series, but possibly leading it. NYK loses one of their top players the whole series and their other two were hurt for 2-3 games of it.
And the Magic are just getting outplayed by the Hawks who have a pretty commanding 3-1, I think the Magic will extend it to play another game after tmo's game...but wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks finish them in 5.
Agreed on the Magic, Atlanta is flat out owning them this year.

You beat me to it. Looks a lot like last year so far.
